In 2002, Lhacen with his brother sat beneath the stars in the Sahara, sharing a pot of mint tea and a bold idea.
Both born and raised in Desert, they had spent years guiding travelers through Morocco’s labyrinthine medinas, mountain trails, and desert expanses as freelance guides. Yet they noticed a gap: many tour operators prioritized quantity over quality, offering rushed itineraries that skimmed the surface of Morocco’s soul. Lahcen dreamed of something deeper—a travel agency that would act as a bridge between cultures, crafting journeys as rich and layered as the country itself.
The Early Days
With little more than a shared savings account and a weathered Land Rover, they launched Morocco Tours Packages. Their first office was a corner of Lahcen. Initial clients were adventurous backpackers seeking authentic experiences beyond the typical tourist trail. Word spread quickly about their signature “Berber Immersion Trek,” a 5-day hike through the Atlas Mountains where travelers dined with local families and slept in village gîtes. By 2013, demand grew beyond individual travelers to luxury seekers, honeymooners, and even photography expeditions.
Key Milestones
Launched “Women’s Empowerment Tours,” collaborating with female-led cooperatives in rural areas.
Survived the pandemic by pivoting to virtual cooking classes and storytelling sessions with Moroccan artisans.
Celebrated 13,000+ travelers served, with a 98% client satisfaction rate.
Today, Morocco Tours Packages operates with a team of 35 full-time staff and 200+ trusted local partners, but Lahcen still personally vet every new itinerary. “We don’t just sell trips—we share our homeland,” says Lahcen. “Every dune, every spice market, every smile from a villager… that’s our heart.”
At our core, we believe travel should transform—not just transport. Our mission is threefold:
Cultural Connection
We design tours that foster genuine interactions. Whether sipping tea with a nomad family in the Sahara or learning pottery techniques in Safi, our trips prioritize meaningful exchanges over checklist tourism.
Sustainability
20% of our profits fund community projects, from building schools in the Draa Valley to supporting argan oil cooperatives run by Berber women. We exclusively partner with eco-conscious accommodations (think solar-powered desert camps and restored riads).
Uncompromising Quality
From VIP airport meet-and-greets to 24/7 in-country support, we handle every detail so you can immerse yourself fully.
Our team is a tapestry of storytellers, historians, foodies, and adventurers—all united by a passion for sharing Morocco.
Leadership
Lahcen (Co-Founder): A certified mountain guide and fluent in 4 languages, Lahcen’s expertise in Berber culture has been featured in National Geographic Traveler.
Mohamed(Co-Founder): Specializes in culinary and artisan-focused journeys.
Featured Team Members
Youssef (Lead Sahara Guide): Born in a nomadic family near Merzouga, Youssef’s campfire tales of desert legends leave travelers spellbound.
Leila (Cultural Liaison): A former anthropology professor, Leila designs our “Heritage Trails” itineraries, connecting travelers with master craftsmen in hidden workshops.
Rachid (Adventure Specialist): Rachid has summited Mount Toubkal 87 times and trains all our hiking guides in wilderness first aid.
Training & Values
Every team member completes a rigorous 6-month apprenticeship, including courses in:
Cultural sensitivity and responsible tourism practices
Crisis management and safety protocols
Sustainable hospitality (e.g., waste reduction, water conservation)
Hyper-Local Knowledge
Our guides aren’t just experts—they’re insiders. Want to find the best msemen (Moroccan pancake) in Casablanca? Visit a secret blue agave field in the Rif Mountains? We know the people and places you won’t find on Google.
Tailored Flexibility
Unlike rigid group tours, we offer:
Mix & Match Itineraries: Combine a 3-day Marrakech food tour with a 4-day Sahara glamping adventure.
Special Interest Tours: Photography, birdwatching, architecture, or genealogy trips for travelers tracing Moroccan roots.
Ethical Impact
Partnered with Eco-Morocco to plant 5,000 trees in fire-affected Atlas regions.
100% of our desert camps are plastic-free; 70% of meals use locally sourced ingredients.
“We’d dreamed of Morocco for years, but Morocco custom tours made it a reality. Their team arranged a surprise wedding renewal ceremony for us in a rose petal-covered courtyard in Chefchaouen. We cried, our guide cried—it was magic.”
— Sarah & Tom, New York
“As a solo female traveler, I felt safe and empowered. Leila introduced me to female entrepreneurs in Essaouira running a seaweed cosmetics startup. I left inspired, not just toured.”
— Priya, London
“Rachid guided our family (kids aged 8 and 12!) up Mount Toubkal. His patience and humor turned a challenging hike into our kids’ favorite memory. They still send him postcards!”
— The Alvarez Family, Mexico
We embrace slow travel—encouraging you to linger in places that move you, whether that’s an hour-long henna art session or an unplanned sunset camel ride. Our trips blend:
Authenticity: No staged “cultural shows.” Instead, join a real Gnawa music ritual or help bake bread in a village tannour oven.
Balance: We know luxury matters. After a day of trekking, enjoy a 5-star riad or a private hot tub under the desert stars.
Morocco is more than a destination—it’s a feeling. The scent of orange blossoms in a Marrakech courtyard. The echo of the muezzin’s call as the sun dips behind the Atlas peaks. The warmth of a stranger’s “Marhaba” (welcome) as you step into their world.
